How we work

Fixed scope, written down, done by the person you spoke to

Every engagement runs the same way. The founder does the engineering himself, so the person on the scoping call is the person who builds it.

  1. 01

    A 20-minute call

You tell us what you have, what's going wrong and any deadline. If it isn't a fit, we say so on the call.

  2. 02

A written scope within one business day

Deliverables, acceptance criteria, duration and a fixed price, on one page. Nothing starts until you agree to it.

  3. 03

    NDA and access

We sign your NDA. You grant access to the accounts the work needs, with the narrowest role that will do.

  4. 04

    The build

A short written note at the end of every working day: what was done, what is next, anything we need from you.

  5. 05

    Handover

Evaluation set, runbook, recorded walkthrough, and all code or workflow exports in your repository. Our access is removed.

Your data and access

  • We work inside your accounts: your cloud, your repository, your model-vendor keys.
  • Zero-data-retention settings are turned on wherever the model vendor offers them.
  • Your data is never used to train or fine-tune a model, ours or anyone's.
  • Credentials are kept in your vault or credential store, never in prompts or chat.
  • Access is removed and credentials rotated at handover.

A person in the loop, by default

Nothing is sent to your customers, paid, or written to a system of record (your books, CRM, practice-management or property-management system) without an approval step, unless you decide to turn it off.

Approval steps are cheap to remove later and expensive to add after a mistake.

What every engagement leaves behind

  • An evaluation set you can rerun after any change
  • A runbook: how it works, how it fails, what to do
  • A recorded walkthrough
  • All code, prompts and workflow exports in your repository

What we don't do

  • Work that needs health information (PHI) or a HIPAA business associate agreement
  • Screening or ranking of job candidates
  • Outbound AI calls or texts without a consent design
  • Investment advice or recommendations generated for your clients
  • Hourly staff augmentation. We sell fixed-scope sprints, not seats

Instead of a contractor seat

If you were about to hire a fractional AI engineer for a few months, a sprint is often the cheaper way to find out what you need: a fixed price, a written result in one or two weeks, and no commitment after it.

Calls and contracts

Calls are available during US Eastern business hours, Monday through Friday. We reply to every message within one business day. Contracts and invoices are with Destello AI Incorporated, a Delaware corporation, in US dollars.

Tell us what you have and what is going wrong.

A 20-minute call, then a written scope with acceptance criteria and a fixed price within one business day. If it isn't a fit, we'll say so on the call.
