LLM cost and latency reduction

Your token bill grew three times. Your usage didn't.

We break down spend by model, stage and endpoint from your logs, price each saving before building it, then implement the ones you approve and prove them on production logs with a quality check.

Price

$1,500 audit

$3,500 implementation

Time

1 week audit; 1–2 weeks implementation

First step

Cost audit · $1,500

Where the money goes, and a priced list of savings in the order to build them. You can implement them yourself if you prefer.

You have this problem if…

  • The bill grows faster than your users or your requests.
  • An endpoint sends the whole document, the whole history or a long system prompt with every call.
  • Latency is too high for the product, and the only idea so far is a bigger, more expensive model.

What you get

  • Spend broken down by model, pipeline stage and endpoint, from your own logs
  • A priced list of savings: caching, payload trimming, rule-based replacements for model calls, and routing each task to the cheapest model that passes its tests
  • Implementation of the savings you approve
  • A before-and-after comparison on production logs, with a quality check so the savings don't cost accuracy
  • Cost alerts and a dashboard query you keep

How it is done

  1. 01

    Instrument

If your logs don't record tokens per call, we add that first. You can't cut what you can't see.

  2. 02

    Break down

Spend by model, stage and endpoint. Usually two or three calls account for most of the bill.

  3. 03

    Price each saving

Each change gets an estimated saving and a risk before anything is built.

  4. 04

    Implement

Caching, trimming, routing and rule-based replacements, behind flags.

  5. 05

    Verify

Before and after on production logs, with the quality check run on both.

  6. 06

    Hand over

Alerts, the dashboard query and a runbook stay with you.

What usually goes wrong, and how we handle it

Caching needs a stable prefix

Prompt caching only pays off when the start of the prompt is identical across calls. Changing content goes at the end.

A cheaper model has to pass the same tests

Calls are routed to a smaller model only where it passes the quality check for that task.

Retirements change prices too

On AWS Bedrock, Claude Sonnet 4.5 moves to extended access at higher prices on January 8, 2027. Doing nothing raises the bill.

Why you can trust us with this

Our founder designed infrastructure that runs a compute-heavy analytics product with about 20,000 registered users at roughly 10% of equivalent AWS cost.

As the product manager who owned the file-systems layer at Pantheon, a platform serving 700,000+ websites, he cut 95th-percentile file-read latency by about 40% and storage cost by about 30% on targeted workloads.

What we don't do on this package

  • No savings that lower quality without your sign-off. Every change is checked against a quality test.
  • No switching your vendor without a written comparison.
  • No fees as a percentage of savings. The price is fixed, and you keep the savings.

Questions

What if there aren't any big savings?

The audit says so. You've spent $1,500 to find out, not a build fee.

Do you need production access?

Read access to usage logs and the code that makes model calls. Production changes go through your normal review and deployment.

Who does the work?

Suresh Rajendran, our founder, does the engineering on every engagement himself. Nothing is handed to a junior engineer or a subcontractor.

Where does our data go?

We work inside your accounts: your cloud, your repository, your model-vendor keys. Where a vendor offers zero data retention we turn it on, and your data is never used to train a model. Our access is removed and credentials are rotated at handover.

How do we pay?

The first step is paid up front. Builds are 50% to start and 50% on acceptance. We invoice from Destello AI Incorporated in US dollars, payable by ACH or card. If you go ahead with a build within 30 days of the first step, its fee is credited.

What if the result doesn't meet the bar?

Acceptance criteria are agreed in writing before work starts, and the second payment is due only when they're met.

Will you sign our NDA?

Yes, usually within one business day.
